Vintage 1960s Ross Middleweight Cruiser — All-Original Survivor, Ready to Ride
This is the kind of bike people picture when they picture a 1960s American cruiser: two-tone blue paint, a proper tank console between the frame tubes, twin headlights mounted up front, full fenders, and a rear rack. A Ross middleweight, and — the part that makes it worth having — all-original and complete.
Complete is the whole story with these. The tank, the headlights, the rack, the fenders: those are exactly the pieces that get removed, broken, or lost across sixty years. Most surviving middleweights turn up stripped to a bare frame with a saddle. This one still wears every one of them, fully intact.
The original two-tone blue paint has aged into a genuinely great retro patina — the kind of finish that reads as authentic rather than tired, and that no restoration can imitate. The chrome shows honest vintage surface wear, which is what sixty-year-old chrome is supposed to look like.
Best of all, this is not a display-only piece. The bike is fully assembled, mechanically sound, and ready to ride as-is, with a simple coaster brake — pedal backward to stop, nothing to adjust, nothing to maintain. Middleweight cruisers ride beautifully: upright, stable, and comfortable in a way modern bikes have largely given up on.
Why This One Is Worth It
- All-original survivor: not restored, not reproduced — the real thing.
- Tank console and twin headlights: the defining features of the era, and the first things usually missing.
- Complete with fenders and rear rack: nothing to hunt down or source.
- Original two-tone blue paint: genuine patina that cannot be faked.
- Actually rideable: mechanically sound and ready to go as-is — rare for a bike this old and this complete.
- Coaster brake simplicity: no cables, no adjustment, nothing to service.
