Vintage 1970s Peugeot UO-8 Single Speed — Restored French Steel, Seriously Upgraded

The Peugeot UO-8 is one of the most recognizable bicycles France ever exported — the bike that put a generation of Americans on drop bars in the 1970s. This one has been reborn as a clean, purposeful single speed, and it is not a rattle-can project bike. It is a proper restoration with genuinely good parts hung on it.

The original white steel frame still wears its classic Peugeot checkerboard decals, and it has earned its patina honestly — minor light cosmetic marks and small paint chips, no structural damage. French steel from this era rides the way steel is supposed to: lively, compliant, and quiet under you in a way no aluminum frame manages.

Where this build separates itself is the component list. It rolls on a high-end DT Swiss RR 1.1 wheelset — a legitimately premium road wheel, not a budget replacement — wrapped in fresh Panaracer Pasela TourGuard gumwall tires, which are the enthusiast's choice for exactly this kind of bike: fast, supple, puncture-protected, and period-correct in looks. Stopping comes from strong dual-pivot caliper brakes, a meaningful upgrade over the vague single-pivot brakes these bikes originally shipped with. A comfortable WTB saddle and ergonomic grips round it out.

Because it runs modern 700C wheels rather than the obsolete 27-inch size these frames left the factory with, tires and tubes are available at any bike shop, forever. That one detail turns a charming old bike into something you can actually rely on.

It is mechanically tuned, clean, and fully ready to ride — no project list, no "just needs."

What Makes This One Worth It

• An icon, properly done: the UO-8 is the quintessential vintage French road bike, and this is a considered build rather than a quick flip.
• DT Swiss RR 1.1 wheelset: premium, durable, and worth a serious fraction of the asking price on its own.
• Panaracer Pasela TourGuard tires: the gumwall tire vintage riders actually seek out — supple ride, real flat protection.
• Upgraded dual-pivot brakes: modern stopping power on a classic frame.
• 700C conversion: no hunting for obsolete 27" rubber. Parts stay easy to find.
• Single speed simplicity: no derailleurs to adjust, no cables to fuss with. Clean lines, near-zero maintenance.

1960 J.C. Higgins Flightliner — Ladies Tank Cruiser in Teal

J.C. Higgins was Sears' own bicycle brand, and the Flightliner sat near the top of the range — the model you bought when you wanted the tank, the chrome, and the presence. This is a 1960 ladies' example, and it has held together remarkably well for a bicycle now well past sixty.

The centrepiece is the integrated tank moulded into the frame. Tanks were the styling signature of the era — borrowed straight from motorcycle design — and they are also the part most often dented, stripped, or simply gone. This one is here and structurally solid, as are the steel frame and the rear rack, with no major dents.

The teal paint shows light surface wear, minor chips, and the cosmetic aging you would expect and, frankly, want on a bike of this vintage. The chrome on the fenders, handlebars, and wheel rims retains good shine, with only light patina visible up close — which is genuinely better than most survivors of this age manage.

What really completes it is the finishing kit: the white sprung saddle, white grips, and whitewall tires are all fully intact. That white-on-teal combination is the whole look, and assembling it from scratch is both expensive and fiddly. Here it is already done.

Mechanically it is simple and working: a single-speed drivetrain and rear coaster brake that engage smoothly. Ride it gently as a casual cruiser, or stand it up as a genuinely striking display piece.

Why This One Stands Out

• Integrated tank, intact: the defining feature of the era, and the first thing usually missing or dented.
• Chrome still shines: fenders, bars, and rims all presenting well.
• Complete white kit: sprung saddle, grips, and whitewall tires — the look is finished, not a to-do list.
• Sound structure: frame, tank, and rack solid with no major dents.
• Working drivetrain and coaster brake: it functions, it does not just sit there.
• Step-through frame: easy to mount, and flattering to the whole design.

Specifications

Condition Notes

This vintage J.C. Higgins Flightliner is in good pre-owned condition for its age, showing a nice balance of original character and functional appeal.

The steel frame, integrated tank, and rear rack are structurally solid with no major dents, though the teal paint displays light surface wear, minor chips, and cosmetic aging typical of a classic bicycle. The chrome components, including the fenders, handlebars, and wheel rims, retain good shine with light surface patina present upon close inspection.

The original-style white sprung saddle, white grips, and whitewall tires are fully intact, giving the bike a complete aesthetic. The single-speed drivetrain and rear coaster brake engage smoothly, making this a great candidate for a casual cruiser or a standout display piece.

As with any bicycle of this age, a tune-up is recommended before regular riding. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description.

Custom Three Olives Vodka Bar Cruiser — A Bike That Opens Into a Bar

This is not a bicycle you buy to ride to work. It is a custom-built promotional bar bike, made for Three Olives Vodka, and it does something no ordinary bike does: the frame folds out into a Union Jack drinks cabinet.

Pieces like this were built in small numbers for brand activations, launch events, and bar installations — never sold at retail, and rarely surviving in working order once a campaign ended. That is what makes it collectible. It is advertising history you can stand in a corner, and it earns attention in a way ordinary decor cannot.

The metallic royal blue paint shows nicely, and the fold-out Union Jack frame cabinet opens, holds securely, and closes properly — the mechanism works exactly as intended, which on a one-off custom build is the thing that matters most. The chrome horn and center kickstand are fully intact, and that centre stand means it stands up straight and stable on its own for display, no lean, no rack required.

It is also genuinely functional as a bicycle: the single-speed coaster brake drivetrain operates smoothly and the tires hold air. Roll it out onto a patio for an event, then park it back inside as a fixture.

Where This Belongs

• Bars, pubs, and restaurants — a conversation piece that also serves drinks.
• Home bars and games rooms — functional decor with a real story behind it.
• Advertising and breweriana collectors — promotional builds like this rarely reach the public.
• Event and marketing companies — a ready-made activation prop.
• British-themed venues — the Union Jack cabinet does the theming for you.
• Retail and window displays — it stops people walking past.

Specifications

Condition Notes

This custom promotional bicycle is in great physical and functional shape. The metallic blue paint shows nicely, and the fold-out Union Jack frame cabinet opens, holds securely, and closes properly. The single-speed coaster brake drivetrain operates smoothly, the tires hold air, and the chrome horn and center kickstand are fully intact.

Light cosmetic scuffs on the pedals and hardware are present from general handling.

One plastic cup is missing — that is the only thing absent from the bike. We would rather tell you now than have you count them later.

Schwinn Loop 20" Folding Bike — Fully Equipped, Fully Functional

The Schwinn Loop is a folding bike built for people who actually need one to work. It folds down to fit in a car boot, a closet, under a desk, or onto a boat — and unlike most folders at this size, it arrives already carrying everything you would otherwise have to buy separately.

That equipment list matters more than it sounds. A rear cargo rack, a basket, full fenders, a kickstand, reflectors, and an adjustable seat are all fitted. Buy a bare folding bike and adding those pieces means several separate purchases, fitment headaches, and often more than a hundred dollars. Here they are already on the bike and already working.

Riding it is straightforward by design. 20-inch wheels keep it compact without feeling twitchy, the 7-speed Shimano drivetrain with an easy grip shifter gives enough range for bridges and headwinds, and V-brakes (linear-pull) provide strong, simple stopping. Riser handlebars put you in a comfortable upright position, and rear suspension takes the edge off rough pavement — genuinely welcome on small wheels, which transmit far more road buzz than large ones.

Condition — the Important Parts Check Out

This bike is in solid, fully functional pre-owned condition. On a folding bike the questions that matter are always about the joints, and they pass: the frame, folding hinges, handlepost, and rear cargo rack are structurally sound and operate properly. The 7-speed Shimano shifting and linear-pull brakes function smoothly.

What you will find is minor cosmetic wear, light surface paint scuffs, and natural oxidation on some hardware from normal use. Cosmetic, not structural.

Who It Suits

• Commuters combining a bike with a train, bus, or car.
• Apartment dwellers without anywhere to store a full-size bike.
• Boaters and RV owners — the classic folding-bike use case, and the rack and basket earn their keep.
• Errand riders who want to carry things without buying accessories separately.
• Anyone who wants a practical bike that stores out of sight in seconds.

Vintage 90s Diamondback Response Sport — Built Into a Fast City Commuter

This Diamondback Response Sport started life as a 1990s mountain bike and has been set up as something more useful: a quick, comfortable, and genuinely durable city commuter. If you want one bike for getting to work, running errands, and riding the neighbourhood — and you would rather not worry about it locked up outside — this is a smart choice.

The original black frame wears unmistakable retro 90s purple splatter graphics, which have swung all the way back around into being genuinely desirable. It is a steel frame — tough, forgiving over broken pavement, and repairable in a way that carbon and aluminum are not.

The commuter setup is where the thought went in. It rolls on Schwalbe City Jet tires — a smooth, fast-rolling pavement tire that transforms how an old mountain bike feels on the road, cutting the drag and buzz that knobby tires create on tarmac — mounted on 26" alloy wheels. Up front, a RockShox suspension fork takes the sting out of potholes and broken kerbs, and the Shimano 21-speed drivetrain gives plenty of range for bridges, hills, and flat sprints alike. Cantilever brakes provide strong, well-proven stopping power.

The frame is structurally solid with no dents. It is ready to ride as it sits.

Why This One Works

• Already converted for the city: smooth pavement tires fitted — no need to spend money making it commuter-friendly.
• Schwalbe City Jet tires: a real upgrade over knobbies. Faster, quieter, and far less effort on pavement.
• RockShox front fork: genuine suspension for rough city streets.
• Shimano 21-speed: a proven, serviceable drivetrain that any shop can work on.
• Steel frame, no dents: structurally sound and built to take abuse.
• Locks up without worry: all the capability of a modern hybrid, none of the anxiety about leaving it at a rack.
• That 90s splatter paint: instantly recognizable, and back in style.

It comes upgraded with high-performance Schwalbe City Jet smooth pavement tires on 26" alloy wheels, a comfortable RockShox front suspension fork, and a reliable Shimano 21-speed drivetrain.

Vintage 1960s Ross Middleweight Cruiser — All-Original Survivor, Ready to Ride

This is the kind of bike people picture when they picture a 1960s American cruiser: two-tone blue paint, a proper tank console between the frame tubes, twin headlights mounted up front, full fenders, and a rear rack. A Ross middleweight, and — the part that makes it worth having — all-original and complete.

Complete is the whole story with these. The tank, the headlights, the rack, the fenders: those are exactly the pieces that get removed, broken, or lost across sixty years. Most surviving middleweights turn up stripped to a bare frame with a saddle. This one still wears every one of them, fully intact.

The original two-tone blue paint has aged into a genuinely great retro patina — the kind of finish that reads as authentic rather than tired, and that no restoration can imitate. The chrome shows honest vintage surface wear, which is what sixty-year-old chrome is supposed to look like.

Best of all, this is not a display-only piece. The bike is fully assembled, mechanically sound, and ready to ride as-is, with a simple coaster brake — pedal backward to stop, nothing to adjust, nothing to maintain. Middleweight cruisers ride beautifully: upright, stable, and comfortable in a way modern bikes have largely given up on.

Why This One Is Worth It

• All-original survivor: not restored, not reproduced — the real thing.
• Tank console and twin headlights: the defining features of the era, and the first things usually missing.
• Complete with fenders and rear rack: nothing to hunt down or source.
• Original two-tone blue paint: genuine patina that cannot be faked.
• Actually rideable: mechanically sound and ready to go as-is — rare for a bike this old and this complete.
• Coaster brake simplicity: no cables, no adjustment, nothing to service.

Condition Notes

This classic Ross cruiser is a fantastic, all-original survivor in great rideable condition. The solid steel frame, tank console, twin headlights, fenders, and rear rack are all fully intact and feature the original two-tone blue paint with an awesome retro patina.

The chrome shows authentic vintage surface wear, but the bike is fully assembled, mechanically sound, and ready to ride as-is.

Vintage 1985 Trek 400 — American-Built Steel, Still Doing Its Job

In 1985, Trek was still a Wisconsin company building steel road frames by hand, and the 400 sat in the sweet spot of the range: serious enough for real riding, sensible enough that people actually bought them and rode them for decades. Forty years on, they remain one of the most recommended entry points into vintage road cycling — and this one is a good example.

The black steel frame is structurally sound with no cracks or severe dents, carrying the light paint wear, minor chips, and classic patina you would want from a bike that has been used rather than hidden away. It rolls on 700C clincher wheels that spin straight, with tires that still have usable tread — modern tire sizing, so replacements are available at any shop.

The drivetrain is a proper piece of eighties engineering: a 12-speed Shimano setup running Biopace oval chainrings — Shimano's distinctive non-round rings, designed to smooth out the dead spot in your pedal stroke, and now a genuinely sought-after period detail among collectors. Down tube shifters control it, shifting properly, and the side-pull caliper brakes engage smoothly.

Then there is the part the photos will sell better than words: the tan/brown road saddle with matching handlebar wrap, both intact and presenting very well. Against black paint, that warm tan is the colour combination vintage road riders actively hunt for — and it is expensive to recreate properly if a bike does not already have it.

Why the Trek 400 Is a Smart Buy

• Made in the USA: Wisconsin-built Trek steel from the era that made the brand's name.
• Sound frame: no cracks, no severe dents — the thing that actually matters on a forty-year-old bike.
• 700C wheels: modern tire sizing, so rubber is easy and cheap to find forever.
• Biopace chainrings: a distinctive, collectible piece of eighties Shimano engineering.
• Everything works: shifts properly, brakes engage smoothly, wheels spin straight.
• Tan saddle and matching wrap: the classic look, already done and in good order.

1971 Schwinn Stardust 3-Speed — An Original Survivor, Not a Restoration

This is an original 1971 Schwinn Stardust, built in September 1971 — confirmed by its serial number, JG036231. The Stardust is an uncommon model that rarely surfaces, and this example has survived more than fifty years with its original finish and period-correct parts still on it.

Let us be direct about what this bike is, because it matters: this is a survivor, not a restored bike. It wears its original paint with genuine patina — scratches, chips, and honest age. That is precisely why it is desirable. A repainted Schwinn is just an old bike; an unrestored one with its factory finish intact can only be original once. Collectors pay for originality, and you cannot put it back after it has been stripped.

What is still here is the good stuff: the Schwinn head badge, the original "Stardust" chain guard (graphics worn from age and use, as you would expect), chrome fenders, the sissy bar, and a 3-speed internal hub with hand-operated caliper brakes and the classic Schwinn one-piece crank. The components are period-correct throughout — no modern parts substituted in.

Whether you are preserving it exactly as-is, adding it to a collection, or using it as the honest starting point for a careful restoration, this is a strong candidate. Uncommon models in original condition do not come around often.

What Makes This One Special

• Documented build date: serial JG036231 dates it to September 1971 — real provenance, not a guess.
• Uncommon model: the Stardust is far scarcer than the Schwinn cruisers and middleweights you see constantly.
• Original paint and patina: unrestored, un-messed-with, and impossible to recreate.
• Original Stardust chain guard: the model-specific part that is usually the first thing missing.
• Period-correct throughout: head badge, chrome fenders, sissy bar, one-piece crank.
• Simple 3-speed hub: internally geared, durable, and easy to live with.

Specifications

Condition Notes — Please Read

Up for sale is an original 1971 Schwinn Stardust 3-speed bicycle, built in September 1971 (serial number JG036231). This is a very uncommon Schwinn model and a great candidate for preservation. The bike retains its original paint, Schwinn head badge, chrome fenders, chain guard, sissy bar, and period-correct components. It has the original "Stardust" chain guard, although the graphics show wear from age and use.

This is an original survivor, not a restored bike. Expect scratches and paint chips consistent with fifty-plus years of life. The original saddle is torn. We are telling you that up front rather than burying it — a correct replacement or a re-cover is straightforward if you want it usable, and many collectors prefer to keep the original as-is.

Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description and are the most accurate record of this specific bike. As with any bicycle of this age, a full tune-up is recommended before regular riding.

1954 B.F. Goodrich Fleet Star — Original Paint, Freshly Serviced, Rides Now

Here is something most people do not know: B.F. Goodrich — the tire company — sold bicycles through its tire stores for decades. You did not buy a Fleet Star at a bike shop; you bought it where your father bought his tires. That retail quirk is exactly why these turn up far less often than Schwinns and Huffys, and why collectors of American badge-brand bicycles seek them out.

This 1964 Fleet Star has the details that matter: the original Fleet Star chain guard and the original B.F. Goodrich head badge are both present. The badge is the whole identity of a store-branded bicycle — without it, it is just an anonymous old cruiser. It also wears its original blue and white paint throughout.

Money Has Been Spent Where It Counts

This is not a barn find that needs everything. It has been mechanically sorted and it is ready to ride:

• New chain installed
• New 26" whitewall tires installed — correct period look, and fresh rubber
• Coaster brake works properly
• Wheels spin true
• Rides well and pedals smoothly

New tires and a new chain on a sixty-year-old bicycle are not trivial — they are usually the first two things a buyer has to pay for. Here they are already done.

Be Clear About the Cosmetics

The paint is original, and it looks its age. There are numerous paint chips and scratches, areas of surface rust and paint loss on the rear rack, and the rear rack has noticeable paint wear. The chrome shows age with light oxidation, the decals show wear, and the seat has small cracks though it remains usable.

None of that is hidden — it is all in the photos, and it is why this is priced as an honest original rather than a restored show bike. If you want a survivor with real character that you can actually ride, that is precisely what this is. If you want flawless paint, this is not your bike.

Vintage 1988 Dahon Classic III — The Folding Bike That Started It All

Before folding bikes were everywhere, there was Dahon. The company essentially created the modern folding bicycle category in the 1980s, and the Classic III is one of the machines that built its reputation. This is a 1988 example — and unlike most bikes of that age, it is not a project. It works.

The original polished frame shows beautifully. There are normal scratches and light wear consistent with age and use, but no major dents or cracks. Mechanically it is genuinely sorted: the Sturmey-Archer 3-speed shifts correctly, the wheels roll true, the tires hold air, and — the part that matters most on a folder — it folds and locks securely.

That last point deserves emphasis. A folding bike whose latches have gone sloppy is worthless, because the fold is the entire reason it exists. This one still locks up properly, which is why it remains a usable bike rather than a shelf ornament.

The appeal is genuinely double-sided. It is a collectible piece of cycling design history from the company that invented the segment — and it is also a practical commuter you can fold into a car boot, carry onto a train, or stand in the corner of a small apartment. The Sturmey-Archer internal hub is the ideal city drivetrain: shift while stopped at a light, nothing exposed to get knocked out of alignment, and close to zero maintenance.

Why This One Is Worth Having

• Heritage that means something: an early Dahon from the marque that defined folding bikes.
• Folds and locks securely: the single most important thing on a used folder, and it passes.
• Sturmey-Archer 3-speed, shifting correctly: a legendary internal hub, working as intended.
• Original polished frame: presents beautifully, no major dents or cracks.
• Wheels true, tires holding air: ride it, do not rebuild it.
• Steel construction: tough, and repairable by any competent shop.

Vintage 1980s Peugeot 12-Speed Road Bike — Made in France

There was a stretch in the 1980s when a Peugeot was the road bike a serious rider aspired to, and the badge on the head tube meant something. This is one of those bikes: a 12-speed French road machine in black, built from steel in an era when frames were brazed by people rather than bonded by machines.

Steel road bikes from this period ride in a way that is genuinely difficult to buy new today at any sensible price. The frame flexes just enough to take the sting out of rough pavement, holds a line beautifully through corners, and stays comfortable on a long ride in a way that stiff modern frames simply do not. It is why riders keep coming back to them forty years later.

This one has been kept ready to ride rather than parked as an ornament. It rolls on newer Continental Ultra Sport tires with plenty of tread — a proper performance road tire, not whatever was cheapest — and the classic drop handlebars have been rewrapped with fresh black bar tape, so the contact points are clean and grippy from the first ride.

Whether you want a fast, characterful commuter, an entry into vintage road riding, or a stylish base for an eventual restoration or single-speed conversion, a French Peugeot is one of the best-regarded places to start.

Why Riders Want These

• Genuine French-built Peugeot: one of the most collected road bike marques of the era.
• Real steel ride quality: compliant, smooth, and quiet in a way aluminum never manages.
• 12-speed range: enough gearing for hills, flats, and everyday riding.
• Newer Continental Ultra Sport tires: fresh rubber with real tread, so it is ready to ride now.
• Freshly wrapped bars: clean black tape on classic drop bars — no sticky, crumbling old wrap.
• Timeless in black: understated, and it flatters the chrome and lugwork.

Specifications

Sizing

Frame size is the single most important detail on a vintage road bike, so please message us with your height and inseam before ordering and we will confirm the measurements and tell you honestly whether this one fits you. We would rather answer the question up front than have a bike come back.

Condition Notes

Pre-owned vintage bicycle in ride-ready condition. Newer Continental Ultra Sport tires with plenty of tread. Classic drop handlebars with newer black bar tape.

As with any bike of this age, expect cosmetic marks and light wear consistent with its years, and plan on a tune-up if you intend to ride it regularly. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description — they are the most accurate record of this specific bike's condition.
